ACADEMIAPLUS
Alongside formal study, Sir Michelangelo Refalo Sixth Form offers students a variety of opportunities for further learning and personal growth. Students are obliged to choose one programme annually from the following four (4) categories:
- Category A1: Complementary Curricular Activities (CCA) - a variety of activities held four times annually.
- Category A2: 21st Century Soft skills - a broad set of abilities and skills important for success in today's world. These include Ethics, Interviewing Skills, CV Writing, Entrepreneurship, Public Speeaking and Well-Being.

Category B: Accredited Non-Formal education courses (MQF level three non-formal)

Non-Formal Award in Laying the Foundations of Volleyball Non-Formal Award in Methods of Integrating Body and Mind Non-Formal Award in Learning to Live Together in a Multicultural Society Non-Formal Award in Theatre and Performing Arts Non-Formal Award in Voluntary Work - Category C: Student Enrichment Programmes - including NSTF Mini European Assembly; The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award; Junior Achievement Young Enterprise; Model European Assembly; Eko Skola; eTwinning; Euroscola and Erasmus+
- Category D: ASDAN short courses - these encourage participants to further develop their talents while leading to internationally recognised certification.
